Slovakian Rural Architecture by Architect Peter Jurkovič

During the design process of this amazing home in Slovakia, Bratislava-based architect, Peter Jurkovič, referenced traditional folk architectural principles to propose a fusion of old and contemporary architecture.

The icon-shaped house has a small footprint, tiny picturesque windows and a porch. There is a central ‘service box’ made of plywood and the remaining ‘negative’ space consist of rooms filled with soft northern light.
